... buildings are mixed. The major of the city has done a good work converting this place in a pedestrian area inside a saturated city of cars. I hope one day the whole city would be only for the citizens and not for the smoky cars.

That will never happen, as long as politicians are able to rob their citizens for owning a car/motorcycle via taxes.
That's one side of the coin, but on the other there are plenty of people who would take their ass anywhere with the car and wouldn't give up on it, even in the city.
You are right. Those people are fools. I know some of them which bring people on their house to the underground metro station. Lazy people.
