@howo, explain all your downvotes here. Give some context.

@howo, this is not how you attract Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram users to this platform. It only shows them reasons why not to switch.

So how do you attract them ? By telling them "come post your one liners and smartphone photos, you'll earn tokens" ? We want quality content on steem, not stuff like this. and I know roxane is capble of quality content. But this sucks, so I'm downvoting it.

Dude, you're attitude of "this does not meet my standard" is subjective. None of the other voters were bots. Just regular folks who happened to appreciate her post. I may not agree, and you obviously didn't, but that's not the point. People will share what they want to share, and if they feel they need to walk on egg shells then they won't stay. I mean, why stay? Part of the argument for #Steem is that its the most censorship resistant social platform out there...but that's not true when you have people like you "censoring" posts because, you didn't "like them".

At least with Facebook, Youtube, and Instagram you only have one entity that can censor you. In Steemit, you have hundreds like yourself. Your subjective attitude makes this 100 times more censored than any platform on this plant.

And these regular folks who happened to "appreciate" her post, isn't "subjective" ? It goes both ways.

People will share what they want to share, and if they feel they need to walk on egg shells then they won't stay.

When the hell did I say that she shouldn't have shared that ? I said (with my vote) this shouldn't be rewarded as much (or at all if you ask me but that's another subject), not "this shouldn't be shared". Big difference here.

Aaand when did I ever censor her ? One downvote doesn't censor shit, the post is still there, people can still read it. And even if I had the steem power to bring it to 0 in the "hidden" state of steemit, it would still be visible on any front end, this is not censorship. Steem is censorship resistant because content can't be deleted, not because people can downvote.

At least with Facebook, Youtube, and Instagram you only have one entity that can censor you. In Steemit, you have hundreds like yourself. Your subjective attitude makes this 100 times more censored than any platform on this plant.

You're making no sense, I can't delete posts, as far as I know the post is still up for anyone to see. If I was facebook/youtube/whatever and wanted to censor you, you wouldn't be able to see it anymore. That's censorship. A downvote is not.

I suggest that you read up on steem and what is censorship before engaging in more debates. I am down to debate you but you're just making up nonsense which isn't productive.

I downvoted because I disagree on rewards.

There's a contradiction. If everyone here can vote everyone down as they like, it's a wall to the world outside, where, if you want to attract the "mass market", nobody will really enjoy being here, because down-votes are a sign of "I don't like what you're doing here". Basically, other social media platforms have long set the standard, you get a thumbs up or a thumbs down. This has no visible effect on your shown content. But here the payout is reduced or your content turns grey. Furthermore, there is a lot of discussion with those who gave you this downvote. This shows that there is no acceptance. There is no such thing with the centrally managed platforms, because every user knows that as soon as he enters a social media room, the rules of the channel apply (or no rules apply at all). Moreover, there will be no acceptance among users unless a central authority sets very clear rules. What Steemit Inc. would be. But since this is not the case, the individual users and community drivers are in demand. The conflict potential is very high and nobody who comes in fresh from the outside will be able to understand that. Here, money for blogging is advertised. But suddenly you can see publications everywhere about payouts, reward curves, curation ratios, circle voting, abuse, user behavior adaptations, etc., etc. Someone new on the platform will inevitably think that there is a horde of people on the road who are not really interested in the published content because the content is a minor matter. But every social media channel is about content, not distribution and mathematical calculation.

Whether you like the rules or not doesn't matter as long as an officially appointed authority doesn't set up a set of rules accepted by the users. This is not the case here and therefore the conflicts will continue. Who knows where this will lead?

I'm not even sure whether social media coupled with crypto currency is anything at all for the masses. But everyone wants them, right? From my point of view, it could also develop well, but for that to happen, consensus must first be reached between the many different interests here.

You being the only person to disagree only proves my point. Proof of brain does not work. The "Brains" of people upvoting outnumbered the downvotes (You). You clearly are abusing the "Proof of brain" by using all your voting SP.

Hahaha.. funny yet true and should be as well!!
