A Man Needs A Maid.... So we ventured into Akihabara to check out all the manganime ...

... and cosplay stores, and just had to experience a Maid Cafe. If you don’t know what this is, it’s a cafe where you are served by maids and treated like their master. Literally. Everything is over-the-top cute, with very young looking girls in skimpy maid costumes. It’s hilarious but also slightly creepy... especially when you see business men coming in to grab a drink. I’m amused but also not sure if I should be appalled. This is a massive phenomenon here, and to be fair we were also sitting next to two business women.... we chose to come to a place called @homecafe because it’s somewhat wholesome and touristy, given we’re accompanied by a 13yo girl. There is a culture of over-sexualising young girls here (especially in manga and anime), and I’m not sure how to interpret it.
