Playing with APPICS, and musing on how so many folk chasing petite-celebrité using ...
... Instawank & other similar platforms. I know so many folk in the entrepreneurial world who literally live and die based on the number of likes, shares, and follows — it’s really fucking odd!! It is just a pathological need for external validation, especially when $$$ is placed on it also. Stop seeking such validation! Just be YOU, and value your own likes, your own shares, and your own follows.
True story. Everyone needs external validation to some degree (or they think they do...) but yah, I agree, needing it in the form of thousands of "likes" that are barely real is a strange one. I can't tell you how many times I've super passively and without even barely knowing I've done it, given someone a thumb up or heart on insta totally thoughtlessly... And someone out there is literally feeding on my thoughtless "like" as though it's nourishment. We live in a super weird time, for sure.
::shudder::
