Last sunset in the Skaramangas camp.

in #appics5 years ago (edited)

I'm leaving tomorrow but for residents (refugees) it won't be so soon and so easy. They've been stuck here for quite some time already and most of them still don't know when the things will get going for them... My stay here taught me A LOT. It actually may have given me more than I gave to these people. I've done my best to even engage Steem community.. Anyway, it was my first time volunteering here. It was a selfish decision also. I want to see new stuff and have new experiences. Coming again would really be about providing a help without getting anything back. Will I come? Hopefully during Easter or around summer. I don't even know what to write while looking at these containers knowing at least 10 people live in each and every one of them. Europe should man up, this is neither fair nor right..

I do not feel responsible for this crisis, do you? Why are we not asking our politicians how this can have happened? Who is responsible for this?
But many thanks being a person with great feelings, capabilities and a person willing to give up plenty of personal possibilities and fun to help those who have been plyed out by international politics.

I don't feel responsible for the crisis but I don't need to feel that way to go there and help :)

@matkodurko Hey Buddy! I could not really follow up anyone in the past weeks as I was traveling but big respect you going for those kind of experiences. I tried to watch your videos but I somehow just cant open Dtube on any possible device.

I also want to go to visit a refugee camp in Lebanon by this year or next year. I want to talk to people, photograph them and give them a face and tell their stories. Depends on If I can work on my own next year I would also like to stay longer and maybe do some sport activities with the people there. Boxing/Kick boxing for example. I'm sure a lot of the refugees would appreciate something like that.

Let's stay in touch and maybe start something together in the future!

Man, that'd be cool for sure! I know they had kickboxing classes in Skaramagas where I was but the volunteer had to leave..heard kids loved it! I'm deffo up for lebanon as well, let's see what the future holds..if u start planning something just lemme know, maybe our schedules align and we do really meet haha :D
