What does foamy urine mean?
I have done sone research on this, personally because of my experience. And decided to make a post on this and share with you. I hope you find this interesting.
Usually, urine is generally pale yellow to amber in colour and is also flat.
If your urine looks foamy or frothy there are a few reasons why this could be happening.
The most obvious cause of foamy urine is the speed of urination. Just like water foams up when it comes out of the tap quickly, urine foams if it hits the toilet quickly. This kind of foam should also clear up quickly.
Urine can also foam up when it’s concentrated. Your urine is more concentrated if you haven’t had much water to drink and you’re dehydrated.
And sometimes, the problem is actually just your toilet. Some toilet cleaning chemicals can make your urine look foamy. If this is the cause, the foam should stop once you flush the cleaner out of the toilet.
Foamy urine may be a sign that there’s protein in your urine. In many cases, proteinuria is caused by a relatively benign or temporary problem such as dehydration, intense exercise, emotional stress, fever or exposure to cold but in some cases, proteinuria is an indication of kidney disease.
Foamy urine is more likely to be a sign of kidney problems if it happens often or gets worse over time. The best thing to do is go and see your doctor who can do a simple urine test to check for the presence of protein.
Kindly appreciate this post.
