RE: Unique Perspective Greetings Steemians, There's something about this photo that ...
Also my number one rule. But rules can be bent because it's creativity and this innermost gladness to shoot photos that should motivate us. Just a piece of advice. It is already spring now. Please refrain from taking photos of these branches over and over again. It portrays melancholic perception. People all over the world needs happiness, joy and positive vibes because this ongoing situation it already making us down. Search for vibrant colors as a subject. Try making a point that when we look at the new entry tab with all those photos to check, we will be able to take a second glance at it. i apologize if i made you feel i should not be the one giving advices to the pros with 5-digit steem power. I am just happy to welcome you here. And do the same warm greetings to everyone getting onboarded. I do have an SLR Pentax 50-mm. Its not digital so the prints will come out on a paper and not as an uploadable file. I only have a mobile phone with 8-megapixels reso. And cannot come up with these exceptional photos such as what you are uploading. But given the fact you support everyone that comes across your site then this is a great start of a genuine connection established that would make them appreciate your masterpiece. Have a wonderful day.
Thank you for the feedback. The rule of thirds, as outlined in the wikipedia link I provided, is more of a guideline than a rule, one which adheres to what humans find aesthetically pleasing to the eye. No two humans are alike however, and we all like different things, so absolutely I agree, creativity should have no limitations, boundaries, or rules.
My friend, what may give you a melancholic feeling may give another joy. I do appreciate knowing how my photos make people feel. I'm not sure I can refrain. I follow my heart and intuition when I take photos. I don't just take photos of tree branches though, and I am hopeful that my future photos will not make you feel melancholic.
If I'm ever stranded in the woods, I'm hopeful that I have a pile of money to help me start fires, I just hope I don't have a rich politician with me who has no survival skills. What I mean is, Steem Power is just a number, a persons worth and abilities are not measured in numbers. (At least I don't think so.)
I appreciate it, I do not feel offended. I am grateful to know how my photo made you feel. I guess the only question I have rolling around in my head is:
"Why did it make you feel that way?"
Much of what we think and feel is a projection from something within, so the photo must trigger a melancholic reaction for a reason. (No need to reflect on that, just sharing some thoughts for you to ponder.)
I'm grateful to have met you and start a connection.
You have a bright mind, and you are very thoughtful and take time to connect with people.
Thank you for your very well thought out feedback!
Have a wonderful day as well.
