Why is there seemingly more attractive women than men?

Try not to get me wrong I'm really into men yet the more I go out nowadays I see alot of appealing females and not alot of alluring guys. There is something else to make that causes the eye to wait and ponder. It makes me keep thinking about whether there is a capacity to cosmetics or a few people simply couldn't care less about their appearance? I surmise thinning up top also is a component that influences men far more than ladies.
