A Magical Herb Every Homesteader Should Grow

Today I wanted to share with you a little bit about an herb we love here at Kindred Acres. We use this herb in our garden and as part of our health care regimen. It's amazing for both the garden and for our bodies. Medicinally it has helped us to relieve upset stomachs, headaches, cuts, bruises, and more!

It's important that you do your research before using any herb medicinally to make sure it is right for you. Research and speak to your health care practitioner.

Achillea millefolium, also known as yarrow, white yarrow, or common yarrow, is an amazing all around herb every homesteader should consider growing. Yarrow's deep roots accumulate potassium, phosphorus, and copper from the subsoil making it available to other plants around it. It also holds these nutrients in its leaves so it makes a great chop and drop fertilizers, an amazing addition to compost tea, it attracts pollinators and is super easy to grow as it will grow in a multitude of soil types and conditions to include drought. It can spread, may be considered an invasive weed, however, we find it so amazing we are blessed and happy to have it.
