Congo trip was not a scam

As a longtime member of the Apollo Community, I've read and understood the OP's concerns.
It's pretty obvious that this is just baseless FUD, and here's why...

First, Stephen McCullah is not the CEO of Apollo -- he is, in fact, the PR director.
Apollo's CEO is Viktor Konovalov which is a well-known and obvious fact -- all you'd have to do to find that out is go to the Apollo Currency website.

It’s very unfortunate that OP made such a dramatic choice of words for their title, but such is the game if you're click-baiting.
In the very [Kickstarter link] that is mentioned by the OP, it is clear within seconds of reading that Stephen was already giving refunds and communicating with backers about the status of their refunds.
As many of you can imagine, a documentary expedition in the Congo can have many bumps in the road and is a very complicated feat.

OP also claims that Stephen is a “known scam artist”- yet the only instance that this article claims is the uncompleted expedition which Stephen has given refunds for and has communicated with early backers about.
Surely a "known scammer" wouldn't feel compelled to refund their backers and communicate with them at length.

Kickstarter is an incredible place where people can back other individuals' ambitious plans -- but this does not guarantee the completion of the idea.
Not taking a Kickstarter plan to fruition in no way constitutes fraud -- especially not when the person at the helm refunds backers and speaks at length with them about the process.
So, calling him a "known scammer" is a heavy charge with absolutely nothing to back it up.
Besides that, Stephen DID actually go to the Congo and was detained by the military there on several occassions.
There's photo evidence of the trip in this video here:

Secondly, OP goes on to attack Stephen’s interest and past in Biology/Zoology.
The OP claims, “On top of that, this guy went from supposedly being into biology/zoology to suddenly being a cryptocurrency expert who is gonna create code that changes the world."

Where on the team page does it claim that Stephen will be “creating code?"
He is the PR director and has lots of documented, verifiable experience in that field.
The success of Apollo thus far is owed in large part to Stephen's expertise and hard work.
As for changing the world -- I'm sure Apollo coders are working around the clock to make that a reality.

It seems that [u/MerleRempel], the thread's OP, has been dedicating much of his energy to spreading FUD against Apollo Currency on various Reddit threads with many unsupported claims. Just by searching his/her Reddit history I found many threads and posts soliciting help from email hackers and asking which sites are best for finding hackers for hire.
I’d say that is a large red flag in itself and pretty much discredits anything he has to say here.
