Taking the Agony out of Anxiety

A patient contacted me stating
 “my anxiety and stress levels started to become unmanageable, it's through the roof!  I have difficulty sleeping, the smallest day-today things became overwhelming and I constantly felt on edge.  My partner was becoming concerned about my increased anxiety levels and recommended I seek help.  I didn’t want to look at conventional medicine as I was concerned about side effects and wanted to try and manage my anxiety using natural alternatives.”

This is not uncommon, anxiety is now widespread and has become ageless, which is of a huge concern.

Within my homeopathic practice anxiety is making a regular appearance within my patients. Many may not initially come with “anxiety” being a major complaint but when taking their case it’s certainly playing a role in their lives, health and well-being.

Whilst anxiety is nature’s way of alerting us to the possibility of danger. It’s impact is not meant to be ignored, its meant to feel uncomfortable to grab our attention and get ready to take action. 

However, for many millions this is no longer the case. Anxiety has varying degrees and comes in many forms. From Generalised Anxiety Disorder affecting tens of millions of people. Living in an ongoing state of mental and/or physical tension and nervousness, feeling on edge, disrupting sleep and impacting on physical, emotional and mental health. This can be with or without and exact cause.

To Social Phobia, when people experience an irrational fear of social situations, which can be perceived as painful and extremely distressing. For many there’s the fear of being judged, observed, talked about which prevents them from creating healthy social situations.

Or to the extreme of Panic Disorder, characterised by panic attacks or the fear of having one.  Experiencing panic with extreme fear. They can be triggered by both external factors or internally, with the body’s over sensitivity to stress.. This can be with or without panic attacks.

Fortunately as a Homeopath I have my amazing tool box of remedies that can help, no matter what level of anxiety someone might be struggling to manage.   From specialising in PTSD where anxiety can be deep rooted and entrenched with trauma, to supporting patients when faced with a particular challenging phase of their life that has triggered anxiety to flare up, homeopathy help and work its magic!

Very positive post. Thank goodness there is an alternative to drugs because often they have side effects and one of the intentional effects they have is deadening the emotions and I've seen this wreak havoc on relationships.
Like you say, Suppressed anxiety is not a solution. We need to work on the imbalance or trauma that causes the anxiety.
