RE: Why has Cipralex and other antidepressants medicines become commonplace?!
It's a bit more complicated than that, as I explained to you over chat. Pills are the "easy" way for doctors to treat mental disorders that are a result of our lives. Post trauma, personality disorders and other acquired mental illness are more prevalent today than ever, and we don't quite know what to do with it yet, and it goes far beyond the sigma.
Pills are easy. They're simple. Supposedly, you pop a pill and the mental toll should no longer affect you physically. Except that's not a very effective solution. Without therapy (good therapy, the rare kind) you simply cannot rewrite the flawed processes in your brain that cause and perpetuate the mental illness impairing your function.
The best and only way to live and deal with mental disorders, in my experience with someone living with cPTSD and GAD is a very well balanced combo of medication and guidance from a professional. I am not ashamed to admit I have no idea how to live, and need guidance in choosing my path through all the overwhelming anxiety that is life.
So true. and I totally agree with you. I personally went to a psychologist twice a week and after a while started taking pills. I can say that the pills help more than the therapy. but when you have these two together, it's more helpful.
Why life has so many scary shit?..
