RE: Communication: Part 3 - Anthropological approaches to the study of Symbolism

I'm curious as to how seriously you take these various models. Each one has to be a huge simplification of the actual phenomena being observed. Does anyone apply the various lenses to the same culture, to the same phenomena to see which works better, or makes some unique contribution to more complete understanding?

Hi @plotbot2015:)

When we engage into a new society be it in this modern day and era or by chance we get the opportunity to encounter a society still considered primitive in this era, we apply our knowledge gathered by either other professionals in the field of study and our own intuition in the manner we compile our study of that society, as I have mentioned in a previous post, that in the past anthropologists were subjective when compiling studies for different societies, and when another anthropologist visited the society that was studied he/she may have a different way of compiling the study. The most important aspect is trying to never to let your own personal thoughts or emotions affect the actual study:)
