RE: There Is Nothing Wrong With Child Labor

in #anthropology6 years ago (edited)

Having been in some countries of the so-called Third World, I could see little kids running a shop, repairing cars or taking care of a herd of cows. Wow, I compared them to our often spoiled kids in the Western world. On the other hand, childhood is playhood, as Roald Dahl used to say. If you want to get a glance of the paradise, look at children happily playing about. Children are very serious when playing. It is real, it has meaning. I guess the truth lies between "Working the shittiest of jobs at a young age" and unconditioned time for playing and dreaming.
