Antárctica, the coldest continent on Earth, is also the driest place on the planet. Surprisingly, Antarctica is a desert, even though it's covered in ice and snow. The annual precipitation in Antarctica is extremely low, with an average of only about 200 millimeters. This is comparable to the amount of rainfall some desert areas receive. Moreover, many regions of Antarctica are so arid that they don't receive any precipitation for consecutive years. It's a fascinating curiosity about this extreme and unique environment.
