February 25th is a very memorable date in the Philippines, for in 1986, a bloodless revolution in EDSA occurred against the Marcos regime. There was a "PEOPLE POWER" against his supposedly dictatorship where people of all walks of life were out in EDSA, together with the police and the military, to oust President Marcos.

CIA involvement

It was only later on that the CIA involvement was made known. Whereas the Marcos family was expecting to be transferred to Ilocos Norte their home province, they were instead flown to Hawaii where they remained exiled till President Marcos death. The Marcos supporters, my family included, never wavered in their faith that character assassination was a mean to tarnish his reputation, coupled with a lot of unrest in the country, that was allegedly started by Ninoy Aquino. His assassination lead to the PEOPLE POWER in EDSA culminating to his wife Cory Aquino becoming the next president after Marcos.

The present time with President Duterte

After the 1986 PEOPLE POWER, although the so-called revolution was successful, its' goal never materialised. The PHILIPPINES never progressed and reached its' potential; politically, socially and economically.

The government became more corrupt with the succeeding presidents. The poor became poorer, with the divide between the rich and the poor became wider. And economically, it became a poor country as I believe the Philippines was better-off during President Marcos.

Suffice to say, President Duterte described the Philippines as like a plane, circling around and around the tarmac, never getting off.

After 30 years, with the new president who feels the plight of the poor and ordinary citizen, whose administration is now presently fighting DRUGS, CRIME and CORRUPTION in the country, the 91% wanted to erase the memory of EDSA revolution of 1986.

The gathering in Luneta, together with other groups of Filipinos worldwide, was a celebration with the present administration and to show support to President Duterte.

To call it anti-Duterte, locally and internationally, is something else, a fabrication and a part of the plan to oust him, conjured by the opposition, the LIBERAL PARTY.

This is the present PEOPLE POWER of the PHILIPPINES. We call on the world to check for yourselves on what really is happening in our country, not relying on biased reports from local and international media.

Resteemed as part of my initiative to make "filipino" and "philippines" known or perhaps get a better number of audience :)
