In the Philippines: when things are not what they seemsteemCreated with Sketch.

What comes to mind when the world hears something about the Philippines?

Is it all about our beautiful islands? That people everywhere are all smiles? Filipinos winning beauty pageants? Manny Pacquiao? Weird food? Have anyone heard of this "it's more fun in the Philippines" motto?

How about that tsunami that killed thousands few years back? It happened too in the Philippines, not just in Thailand. It was from that typhoon Haiyan.  It happened after Thailand. The world donated huge sum of money as I recall.

Where is that money now?

Do the world care where it is? It's all been given and received. Thank you very much World. You all can move on.

BUT the Filipino people have not. You want to know WHY? Relief goods such as food were uncovered spoiled with their boxes intact amounting to more than 2 million pesos. This was confirmed by the previous Secretary of Department of Social Welfare and Development Dinky Soliman in 2014 who admitted that this was due to "improper handling".

Really? In the news then, there were videos of people looting for food, begging for food. After such devastation, whoever were alive then were suffering from hunger beside their  dead families, not forgetting those families who had family members that have perished and taken by the sea.

Housing

Do the world know that the housing for the Yolanda survivors were made possible ONLY after President Duterte came in the picture? This is 3 years after typhoon Haiyan. President Duterte made it possible with whatever funds that the previous administration left for him to use.

This still leave those donations unaccounted for. The Philippines is a corrupt country, is it not?

The 21 million common Filipinos believe that the President they voted for is not.

If this is the case, should his supporters not defend and protect HIM? With what is happening politically by the opposition, as well as from the foreign media with the opposition's influence? We, the common Filipinos, have only the internet.

With only this platform, will our voices be heard?

I know a lot of Filipino nurses, there is something special about them, they always smiling, have a kind personality and very nice to staff even patients complain in less dramatic way when Filipino nurse are in charge.
I think your beautiful warm culture make you behave in such a good manners.
I hope political situation in your country get better soon.

I appreciate that @araki :)
You know what...now is the beginning of greatness for the Philippines, if only President Duterte is truly seen for what he is and for what he is trying to do for the country and the 91% common Filipinos...the Philippines is not enough to hold every person in the world who is against a corrupt government. This is what the opposition is fighting to not show the world.

Upvoted and followed you. Dutertard here.

You need to post regarding PRRD, few members here are not aware of what is really happening in the Philippines. All they know are the manipulated stories from the opposition.

You are right but I am still busy with work and other post request from a friend and don't know where to begin.

I'll try if I have time...that's a promise.

that's good enough for me..and for sure our socmed dds :)

thank you..more of this please, when you can. i haven't been successful in getting the DDS in fb here :)

If I can find the right research material, then I will try.

there will always be. one member here commented of not finding any source of the real happenings of the Duterte administration, though there sensationalised news of the Philippines abroad.
Am happy that you are doing this, now I can say that am no longer alone in steemit defending President Duterte.
Although, we can state facts and our opinions is a nicer option :)
@krizia

No, not yet. Always knew Noypi got no balls. He's a closet homo.

PRRD is being called an admitted killer since Trump invited him to the WH.

Better a killer than a closet homo for a leader. At least those being killed are a clear and present danger to the state.

i disagree..if it's true yes but if not, then DEFINITELY N-O-T.

All great leaders in history tend to soil their hands for the benefit of the state or goals won't be accomplished. Only Gandhi seems to get away with it somehow. Even Moses had to get some Egyptians whacked to get the job done.

Collateral damage you mean? they cant be avoided hence they're called the sacrifice.
if he is being called an admitted killer because of these then by all means...and not by anything else.

About the Noypi part?
