A story about a bastard son who is growing to be a king for his people. All while the kingdom is under attack by oudside forces. All with powerfull alies and enemies.

Number 4 : Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi

The story about a boy he grows from a bullied person to one of the strongest martial artists around. All while beeing trained by a group of monsterly strong people. Cleaning up the local gangs in the meanwhile.

Number 3 : Naruto franchise

Yeah this one could not have been left out could it :). A story about a boy he grows from a clumsy ninja to the worlds best. All while fighting for his friends.

Number 2 : Log Horizon

They play a online game when they all of a sudden can not leave the 3D virtual world. The story about the mystical group of elites in the story who try to figure out what is happening in the world.

Number 1 : Sword Art Online season 1

Why do i say season 1? Because the rest is not even close. The story about another virtual world that locks the people inside the world. But the legend goes that if you defeat the end boss you get out. If you die once your dead for ever.
