Fate/Grand Order -MOONLIGHT/LOSTROOM- left me feeling lost.

As a dedicated Fate Grand Order player, and fan of Type Moon's Fate franchise, I was very excited when they announced Moonlight Lostroom’s English release. It is now streaming on both Funimation and Crunchyroll. Unfortunately this excitement was quickly replaced with confusion, as it wasn't what I had expected.

I had expected an OVA which would serve as an introduction to the Lostbelt story arc. Instead it was more of a prologue to the prologue for the Lostbelt arc.

The main issue with the episode was that it was primarily a dream focused on a character who I haven't thought about in years - Olga Marie Animusphere. She was the director of Chaldea during Singularity F before being erased from existence by being absorbed into Chaldea itself.

I am hopeful this means she will actually play a role in the upcoming Lostbelt arc, but knowing the Nasuverse it could simply be an unrelated tease.

Aside from confusion, what the episode gives us is a lot of cameos, a couple decent battle scenes, and a brief glimpse of what to expect.

If you are unfamiliar with Fate Grand Order, you should avoid this episode completely. Even if you are familiar you might not get much out of watching it. The animation is high quality, but the episode itself leaves much to desire. That being said, if you do watch, stay until the end of the credits.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Please share your thoughts!
