The Real Reason Why Rock Lee Couldn’t Perform Ninjutsu

Rock Lee is a character from the famous anime, Naruto. In fact, among all other characters, like Naruto and Sasuke, Rock Lee fares pretty well, when it comes to popularity among the fans. For those of you who don’t know, Rock Lee is a Shinobi who was a member of Team Guy, along with Tenten and Neji Hyuga. He was often called a failure, and a dropout. This was mainly because he was different from other Ninja. Many believed that the essence to being a Ninja is, infact, the art to perform Ninjutsu.

This is where Lee was different from the rest of the characters. He wanted to become a splendid Ninja, like them. However, he was unable to perform Ninjutsu. This very reason drove Lee to become a top notch Shinobi even more. He was trained under Might Guy, and he put in severe hardwork.

With time, and training, Lee actually became a Taijutsu specialist. In fact, in Boruto, he is one of Konoha’s strongest Shinobi. But, what is reason behind him not being able to use Ninjutsu? Ever wondered that? Just like other Shinobi, he could’ve easily shown to be able to use Ninjutsu.

Or even like Guy, who can use Ninjutsu but is still a Taijutsu expert. Why was Lee unable to use Ninjutsu?Kishimoto has provided us with an answer himself.

According to Masashi Kishimoto, the reason Lee was depicted in this way, becuase he wanted to depict human weakness with his character. There are characters like Naruto, and Sasuke who are great examples of people you could look up to, but none of them have went through what Lee did.

When you watch Lee, you see a person who has actually faced failure. Not once but a hundred times.

Kishimoto wanted Lee to show us what humans are, and despite everything we do, we can’t be perfect. I’m pretty sure he succeeded in doing that. And, in doing so, he also created one hell of a character, who has become a fan favorite. In fact, Rock Lee has ranked very high among the Naruto fan polls.

However, we all end up wondering why he was not a serious part of the Naruto Shippuden. Honestly, I don’t know why that happened. Lee was a fantastic character. He’s still around in Boruto, and has now become a Jonin. Let’s hope we see a lot of him in the future.
