Thank you for this review, it is a true that mostly many people think that anime is a cartoon for children and even for girls, as the heros are looking so cute and nicely made. But reading through your review, I was impressed to find that there is very popular and hot topic in the “Banana Fish” nowadays a theme of drugs, crime with trafficking, mafia. Of course we do not have such mafia like in “The godfather” but today there is no rules at all. I believe this would be really interesting to see how it is reflected in anime. Another thing I liked in general is martial art and also I watched int eh past those anime with martial arts, so this sounds also quite my thing. That was really comprehensive review, thank you for few tips :)
Yes, and we can't change that view overnight but at least we can move forward to that end bit by bit. Just like any other type of medium, anime is very diverse, the only difference is that they use animation which is instinctively written off as childish by many, one reason I can think of is that anime and cartoons (which are without a doubt mostly aimed for kids) are sometimes mixed up.
