Anime that was appointed this time titled Black Bullet which is adapted from light novel by Shiden Kanzaki. This anime series tells of the state of the earth in the future, where in 2021, humanity is attacked by a giant monster named Gastrea. 10 years passed after the attack, the surviving human beings, forced to live in a small territory behind monolith poles made of Varanium rock that Gastrea hates so much. One day, an agent from a civil security bureau named Satomi Rentarou received a call to eradicate Gastrea who attacked in one of the apartments. But once there, instead of meeting Gastrea, he meets a mysterious masked man determined to bring the world to ruin.

As a Promoter, Rentarou is armed with a shotgun with a black bullet made of Varanium metal, as only Varanium can harm Gastrea. Rentarou's fight against Gastrea was not done alone, he was assisted by a partner named Aihara Enju as the Initiator. Although it looks like an ordinary 10-year-old girl, but Enju is different from other kids. He has the power to defeat Gastrea because he is one of the Cursed Children. In the attacks of Gastrea in 2021, there is a Gastrea virus that is transmitted to pregnant women and the virus eventually infects the fetus. All babies born to the women are girls with red eyes. They are different from other human beings because they have the regeneration ability and the power generated due to Gastrea virus infection while they are still in the womb. Together with Enju, Rentarou struggles to protect the earth and mankind from the threat of destruction.

The anime series adaptation is done by Kinema Citrus, who previously has experience handling anime-anime such as .hack // Quantum, Code Breaker, and Yuyushiki. This anime series will air throughout 13 episodes with the duration of each episode along 23 minutes. Adaptation of the Black Bullet anime series is done quite nicely, in terms of graphics and animation, the audience is presented with character designs, coloring, and lighting are eye-catching. The action scenes and battles in this adaptation also look pretty stunning for those fond of the battle scenes. The background music presented by the anime is enough to build the tense atmosphere that exists in this anime. In addition, the opening song sung by fripSide also adds the attraction of this anime series. Accompanying an opening theme featuring orchestral tones, the cover of the anime series also has an orchestra-style tone also supporting the action and darkness of the anime series. For the aspect of the story, bringing the theme of virus attacks that bring extinction is able to build an atmosphere of action exciting and thrilling. In addition, amid elements of intense action and dark atmosphere of his, this anime series was still able to bring comedic elements as a refresher and his comedy was carried out fairly well.

However, behind all the added value, this anime series did not escape some of the shortcomings. The main highlight in this anime series is the storyline that flows too fast. Because of this, it will be quite difficult to follow this anime adaptation storyline, and because of its impressive groove very quickly, many parts of its light novels are not featured in this anime series. In addition, the number of scenes full of blood and other violent scenes are also displayed with a bit of exaggeration so it feels disturbing and makes you nauseous to watch it.

The moral value that can be drawn from this anime series is about tolerance and respect for those who are different. Because in this anime series also tells about how other humans despise the Cursed Children who are considered as the offspring of monsters, but they are the ones who maintain the survival of mankind. In this anime, it can be seen clearly Rentarou's attempt to make Enju live equally and equally with other human children and live a normal life. In addition, another value to be learned from this anime is about the courage to protect those who are weak. Because we have strength and strength, we must be able to use that strength and strength to protect others, not to bring harm to our surroundings.
