La historia toma lugar en la ciudad ficticia de Kazamatsuri, que tiene la peculiaridad de estar sobre-poblada por vegetación, dándole un aspecto de zona rural. Tennouji Kotarou vive en este lugar, quien tiene la habilidad de “re-escribir” su propio cuerpo, logrando así poder escoger su fuerza o velocidad a placer. Él con la ayuda de 5 compañeras de su escuela investiga misterios sobrenaturales.
