Hero Mask is a Japanese original net animation produced by studio Pierrot for the streaming service Netflix. The series is written and directed by Hiroyasu Aoki, and will premiere worldwide on December 3, 2018.

Plot

Now there's a mysterious Mask before James Blood, and the man behind it is one that shouldn't exist. What is the mystery surrounding this mask...? So begins an action-packed crime story set in a beautiful city!

Thank you for this review, that was interesting to learn a new type of anime that is trying to conquer Western market, everybody knows James Bond that means action, secret service and good story, so using this main keys and especially produced by Netflix that already makes a trick and people at least will try to see if there is anything of interest. Very well performed review and description, like you pointed to good and weak parts :)

So Studio Pierrot doesn't have source material to fuck up this time

That hurt too much dude but was spot on, I don't watch too much SP material because of that lol

I don't know man Netflix and anime still have something to prove for me, I mean Devilman Crybaby was FUCKING HUGE! I loved that adaptation and Violet Evergarden was gorgeous but that was Tokyo Ani sooo... I still don't think they achieved something major, I feel like DMC was a one hit wonder, but this looks good maybe I'll give it a shot, perhaps the seinen approach is what it needs for Netflix to get better shows _{cuz I'm still wating on the second season of Aggretsuko}
