What was given is over. At least for the moment. And it is the end of the anime. Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card 22 leaves everything tremendously open.
We were already warned. Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card 22 was going to be (and actually is) the last chapter of the anime. An episode that does not solve anything but that gets us more fully into this madness in which the protagonists are. For that reason it is more than evident that there will be a second season. Of course, when the manga advances enough.

Because that's what happened with the last issue of manga. That the anime has come to surpass it. For a few pages, but he has done it. So, before doing a Full Metal Alchemist (the first attempt) or a Game of Thrones, the anime makes a stop.

Sakura and Akiho

The connection between Akiho and Sakura can not be denied, but what is it exactly? What are the two girls? It is clear that Kaito has gotten into it but, what exactly?

One theory is that she can be a clone of Sakura. But a clone without power, like Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. The other is to be the Sakura of another time / dimension. And finally, let it be Sakura's own mother from the past.

In all cases this girl would not have the ability to control the power she has. And for that reason they are linking her with Sakura through the book. This link makes Akiho win the same power that the card hunter gains so that, at a certain moment, he will be able to steal that power from him. And so Kaito can invoke "that magic" taboo.

It is a crazy idea. But being the Clamp, anything is possible. I prefer it because it is the mother or even the daughter of Sakura's future. But I do not know. The same is simply a girl belonging to the D. family who wants to regain his power. Or a puppet created by Kaito.

This makes me ask something else. If the object that Kaito has stolen from the London association is the book ... or is it Akiho itself.

Changes with respect to manga
This episode of Sakura, as I say, has surpassed the manga, but by very little. But the last thing that happened in it has also changed a lot.

In today's episode we have seen the confirmation that it is Akiho who hides behind the costume of the mysterious character that comes out in Sakura's dreams. And also that it acts in dreams. However, in the manga this is not the case.

In the manga, the one under the hood is nothing more and nothing less than Shyaolang.

What can this mean? It really does not make much sense. Maybe it was a Kaito trick to prevent Sakura from discovering Akiho's identity. In fact, in the manga, finally what it seems is that the hunter has had a dream.

It is not exactly the same but the outcome is similar. On the one hand, he does not recognize whether what he has seen is a dream or not. And on the other there have been changes in the timeline. Why have they done this? Have you wanted to make this end of the season clearer? Or is it extra information to the manga?

There is also another detail that is told in the manga that does not appear in the anime. This has reference to the power source of Shyaolang and what he is doing to protect Sakura. But you better see it, then you call me a spoiler.

Now we have to wait
With everything we've seen, we're going to have to stop and think a lot these days. Sakura, Akiho, Kaito ... All this that is in between has us very, very scratched. We do not know what that magic is, but it has something to do with the Book and with Akiho.

But unfortunately, all this will have to stay in the background. Or a quarter. Until further notice, go. And I doubt very much that the anime resumed in less than a year.

Keep in mind that just episode 22 has come out a week after the chapter of the June manga. This is the same time that both lines overlap. The moment when you can not count anything more week by week.

And it is that the manga of Sakura leaves once a month. If we do calculations, 12 chapters come out in a year. This can cause anime to be about 16 or 17 chapters. So, for when they spend another few weeks, we will have the 22 or 23 episodes that we have yet to see.
