A silent voice.
As you know, I am passionate about Japanese animation, last night, after a couple of weeks of fire, I wanted to relax and I decided to put on an anime and at the same time lay a hot herbal tea.
My choice fell on a 2016 movie I had seen on the trailer, "A Silent Voice" or Japanese "Koe no katachi" directed by Naoko Yamada, drawn from the same manga.
I love the graphics right from now, reminds me of various anime I have seen lately, all of them on a sentimental, very pretty subject, cute girls, slim bodies and colorful clothes, the classic shoujio anime of recent years.
The protagonist Ishida, is a normal boy, the existence of him was shocked by the arrival of a new classmate: Nishimiya.
The arrival of her triggers the little demon that is in him. The worst of him.
Nishimiya is deaf, communicates only through a blocknotes and sign language.
Her disability is immediately targeted.
Initially accepted with pietism and condescension, Nishimiya soon becomes the perfect victim for class bullies, of which the main bully is Ishida. Anger grows heavier and the poor girl reacts to everything with a smile, until, after the last bruise that leaves her wounded, she decide to leave the school.
Ishida and his companions hate her, hate her weakness, and they were unable to understand her so they try to destroy her, with the cruelty of the children to those who are different.
She is not like them is therefore against them. As always it is easier to attack than to understand.
Diversity scares and even more frightens her not reacting to her, her smile.
Smiling hurts, this makes Ishida angry and disgusted.
And he cries every day, "You're disgusting." to the cute smiling girl.
Ishida grows, the high school arrive and new classmates too, with them new awareness.
And karma.
Ishida has now earned the name of a bully and everyone keeps him away, avoiding him and deriding him . What he has suffered under Nishimiya now happens to him and therefore he understands that he has acted wickedly in his past. Now he is the disgusting who can not react, but wants to change things.
Ishida initiates a process of redemption and for this process he needs Nishimiya and her forgivness.
So research her, finds her in a new school and establishes a relationship of friendship with her. A friendship that grows more and more, restoring it to the eyes of his companions, but not to his own.
The two guys begin a journey of mutual knowledge, to understand why they have done wrong, Nishimiya hates herself because of her weakness and Ishida hates hirself for his bullying. They both share the hate for themselves. A hate that take them to make tragic decisions.
But like every sentimental anime that is respected, love is triumphant and even friendship.
And the will to overcome the barriers, Ishida learns the language of the signs and in a delicate silence communicates with Nishimiya, in that silent voice that only they can hear.
Going beyond stereotypes, prejudices and beyond their weaknesses.

I still cannot move on from anime "Kimi No Nawa",
I have not see it, i must watch it!
You will be not dissapoint
Upvoted and followed! :-)
Thanks for sharing! :-)
I love this movie a lot!! (I like it as much as I like the manga, I like some scenes better in one version than the other).
The manga is full of metaphors (you'll read it differently each time you read it) so I think it deserves a read.
speaking of this post, I like this part:
The story is really tragic... and the realism of it make it more so...
Glad it ended happily...
Me too i was scared of an unhappy ending! I must read the manga, i still have not read it! =(
