SHOKUGEKI NO SOMA (aka Food Wars!) VOICE ACTRESS WILL NOT RETURN FOR SEASON THREE!

Erina Nakiri's voice actress, Risa Taneda, will not come back for the third season of Shokugeki no Soma anime. On Monday, the official website for the anime released that Hisako Kanemoto will be the voice of Erina for the third season, whom replaced Risa Taneda in anime and OVA. It was announced that Tanade will remain on the break due to medical treatment and the extensive recording sessions would affect her health. Taneda, however, did say that she will gradually come back to voice acting after her recovery.

Nakiri Erina – Shokugeki no Soma

Hisako Kanemoto has already given voice to Erina for Jump Special Anime Festa’s event anime last year and she has also voiced Itsuki from Love Live! Sunshine!!, Mel from Lostorage incited WIXOSS and Hinano Kurahashi from Assassination Classroom.

The third season of Shokugeki no Soma is titled Shokugeki no Sōma: San no Sara (Food Wars! The Third Plate). It will follow the previous two seasons, but showcase the battle of the Elite Ten. The third season has 13 episodes and will cover the Moon Festival Arc.

The new anime seems to be trying to catch up with the manga so we can expect to see some new content including Soma and Erina getting closer to each other. Erina’s father also takes over as headmaster of the school which pushes Erina towards making an alliance with Soma to resist her father’s new rules. The Polar Star Dormitory is also threatened by Eizan Etsuya who wants to shut it down and we see Soma challenge him to a battle in order to protect their dorm. In any case, this will be an exciting third season!
