There are plenty of routes that can be explored in the story. The weird party of a Lizard Shaman, Dwarf and High Elf can offer some interesting backstory. Dwarves and Elfs don't like each other, that's the stereotype so I'm guessing plenty of story angles with the new bunch.

yeah I am a bit dissapointed the anime jump the goblin lord arc.
The goblin lord arc will probably be the season finale.
