This is a review of the manga and what is coming in the anime, again SPOILERS!

Now that the anime is out, i am hyped as hell!

Why the hype?

Personally for me it is one of the most beautiful and romantic shows and yeah, this is a guy saying it!

𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕾𝖙𝖔𝖗𝖞

It is about an ancient magician, finding a young girl at a slave auction, buying her, setting her free and becoming his apprentice. (her name is Chise)
He has another goal though, also marrying her eventually!

At first he also seems a bit distanced and cold, but this is because he is not fully human as well. In a way she teaches him about being a human and he teacher her about being a sorcerer.
He want to discover more about his humanity as well, through her.
Later on, he really starts to feel more for her even if he does not always know it.

It continues with that he starts about her letting her discover everything about magic, with studying like mad as part of it. Their bond also continues to grow, with a lot of cute moments as well!

Like the moments she is away for a while or gets lost or something happens.
He really starts to worry for her, he truly is afraid of losing her and while you do not see all his emotions (because of his face).
How it is all brought, makes it even heavier then with just facial expression.

Ofcourse there is also something else about her, wich attracts many magicians to her, bad and good ones.
Because she has a very special and rare, yet deadly power deep inside of her and actually training her to become a magician to postpone her death.
Elias Ainsworth (that is the ancient magus name) is trying to find a cure for her being what she is, so that she can live a full life!
But with this there are many issues popping up ofcourse.

The show also shows in a way what in my eyes True Love is, it shows that it is beyond appearances (even if a lot of ladies think Elias is hot lol). It shows that it is about appreciation, caring for one another and showing that someone is worth all the trouble. (even if the other think that is not true)

It is also the kind of love that they keep discovering new things about themselves and each other, an infinite dance of growth, one that never stops.

These are different points in the manga, but this shows how much they in a way need each other. Even if they are able to survive without each other.

𝕻𝖊𝖗𝖘𝖔𝖓𝖆𝖑𝖎𝖙𝖎𝖊𝖘 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝕮𝖍𝖊𝖒𝖎𝖘𝖙𝖗𝖞

Their personalities:

Like i said before, Elias Ainsworth is not fully human. So he lacks a lot of emotions, always seems distant, has an strong charisma or a powerfull man, very intelligent, wise.

Chise's personality is that she is very sweet, introverted, easy to scare (cause of her past trauma's), very intelligent as well, understanding, cute, but also strong and dedicated in her own way.

Chemistry:

How they also treat each other is another quite fascinating thing in both the manga and anime, Elias treats her like family, sometimes like a daughter, other moments like his women and the combination of that is both cute and funny at times. (specially when they are based about that he does not fully comprehend mankind and their privacy rules)

How Chise treats him, she looks up to him, he knows so much and she knows so little. So she sees him to start off as one big father figure, wich also builds up more and more towards inspiring her, loving and becoming more attached to him.

At other moments, she feels that she wants to treat him as his wife, because out of pure appreciation for him, love and dedication that is building up.
He in a way let her feel like an woman (in a good and very innocent way).

Also the heavier and emotional moments between them feels even more heavy as well, you see how powerful he is, yet so depressed. And you see how fragile she is, yet so determined!

𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝖂𝖔𝖗𝖑𝖉 𝖆𝖗𝖔𝖚𝖓𝖉 𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖒

One word:

ART!

The world displayed in both the manga and up till now the anime is filled with different forms of life. While having an daily attitude (like all of it is normal), it shows how magnificent that world is!
(for real life magicians, the world is kinda like this one, it is impossible for the mundane to understand)

There is always life everywhere on screen, always something flying. While the high level of art is also showing, the detail of everything. Nothing is missed and something is always happening, but not in such a busy way that it tires you.
It is more a relaxing bit, you feel truly at home.

For a big part of the manga and anime, you also see a lot happening through her eyes and you discover this world together with her, yes they created a whole world with all of these beings, you will as well travel with her. There is so much to explore in this show and the best part is to make it more of a magical romantic experience, there is also a lot of symbolism hidden everywhere!
So there are also a lot of puzzles for the more curious minds.

Well, i am sorry to say. I cannot be any different then biased as hell on this show, it also comes very close to home in a personal way.
What i can certainly do, if you dislike reading, well you are in luck now! The anime is out and i can recommend that you watch it!

A bonus:

The last picture is his true form, he loses his human form, when he gets angry. And almost nothing angers him more then someone hurting her. He even does not understand his own anger.
It only shows his love for her even more...
