Gon- Hunter X Hunter- Jajanken

This is a picture I painted of one of my favourite anime show, Hunter X Hunter, a couple of weeks ago. I sketched the character onto a seperate piece of paper, before moving it over to the watercolour piece. The character is called Gon.

I then began painting, working on the glowing areas first (the orange) I then began colouring in his clothes and body, layering up with darker shades as I went. The smoke and black background were added after all this as I was unsure of what I wanted to do for the negative space.

Finally I added The white outlines to enhance the glow by using a white gel pen. I also added the black and white dots, in a similar manner, for a similar effect.
