RE: Sword Art Online: A Review of Season 1 – Glass Reflection

in #anime7 years ago

In fairy tales, when the protagonists end up in a different world, they do their best to get back home, right? But who would want to go back to a world like that?

Oppression. Rule by fear. dictatorships. It's a strange thing. Throughout history, for some reason, the lives of such rulers have always ended in the same way: Assassination by someone who isn't even part of a combat unit.

Whats the probability of drawing the ace of spades from a deck with no jokers? Normaly it would be 1/50. But what if its a brand new deck? The position of cards in a new deck are typically identical, so that means if you take out the jokers and draw the card at the very bottom, it's the ace of spades almost 100% of the time. Oh that's right! I didn't say a word about it being a new deck. Rather, you didn't ask. Being in the "no" gives you the power to turn the probability of winning from 1.92% to 100%. The more knowledge of a party will be the inevitable victor.

Throughout all of history, no wise king has ever forced his army to obey him through oppression. People will only truly fight for what is right. And there is only one thing that is truly right in this world! The one true, unchanging righteousness in the world is... cuteness! Cute makes right! All our needs, desires, and instincts seek cuteness, and it is for cuteness that we will give everything we have! That's just the way men are!

They say people can change, but is that really true? If they decide they want to fly, will they grow wings? I don't think so. You don't change yourself, you change how you do things. You have to make your own way. You have to create a way to fly, even while you stay the same.

There is no such thing as luck in this world. Rules, prerequisites, psychological states... There are any number of invisible factors that combine to produce an unpredictable, but inevitable result. The winner of each game is decided before it even begins. Chance is never a factor.

Basically I'm in LoVE!!!

But Death Note is still better. GitS is even better.

Basically I'm in LoVE!!!

Same!! Absolutely love this show! And just started reading the light novel!

ehhh, Death Note is definitely very veryyy good, but the second half is just too meh for me to say it's better than no game no life. But no game no life is on-going so it isn't that fair to compare. And... I know it's weird but I haven't watched GitS. But I know it's very good!! Will definitely watch it one day, I just need to finish all the anime I started watching while keeping up with 5 other shows I am watching this season!

I'm also stuck with few anime and movies. But you are missing a huge lot with GitS. I haven't gotten into reading light novels yet.

I understand that. Just like before me watching Evangelion, I knew it was a good show and I knew it would leave a hole in me. Ghost in the Shell would probably too, and I really want to watch shows I started since when I watch it I would probably go an entire week without anime after it.

Glad to know you have watched Evangelion. Now you know exactly what you are getting into. Serial Experiments Lain and Boogiepop Phantom came close, but nothing really matches Evangelion and GitS.

I haven't seen Boogiepop Phantom(but heard it's good, but I don't think anyone can amcth Serial Experiments Lain weirdness!

Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo and Monogatari series wer pretty experimental too. But they were not the sci-fi, philosophical, deep thoughts and mindfucks type. BTW do you happen to like Andrew Niccol? I wrote a little bit about his movies:https://steemit.com/busy/@d-zero/learning-economics-and-watching-movies-human-action-taxes-andrew-niccol-s-gattaca-1997-and-anon-2018

on the topic of weird anime, I also really liked Steins;Gate, the camera work made Tokyo in the middle of the day look like a dystopian wasteland!
Haven't heard of Gankutsuou, but I might check it out.
I LOVED Monogatari, I even plan to rewatch it!
I have heard a little bit about Andrew Nicole, but I have never seen one of his movies. But your post got me interested I'll check them out!

Steins; Gate is easily one of my favorites. Totally absolutely loved it. The movie wasn't really good compared to the anime and I didn't watch Steins;Gate 0 I'm trying to find some time for it. I'm stuck with Tales of Zestiria X.

Gankutsuou is superbly and uniquely stylistic and the story is complex and gripping. The music does an amazing job too. You'll love it :)
