Atheris squamigera - Strange animals

Occurs in West Africa. It is nestled in tropical forests, wet scrubs on the edge of the forest and overgrown with marshes.
Adult individuals range from 45 cm to 70 cm in length.
Bite causes painful swelling and problems with blood coagulation.
