The rage that moves to keep us safe is the same that moves to keep animals safe and I would like this story to spark a change in you if you mistakenly claim that animals are not sentient.
The Independent reports of a story from Poland of a ninja cow:
A cow has been living alone on an island, attacking anyone who comes near, after staging a miraculous escape on its way to a slaughterhouse.
The animal made its bid for safety last month after it refused to get into a lorry taking it to be killed for meat. Instead it rammed a metal fence before making a dash for the nearby Lake Nysa, south Poland.
After the cow’s owner, known only as Mr Lukasz, attempted to get it back to the farm, the cow broke one of his worker’s arms, according to Polish news show Wiadomosci.
It then entered the water and swam to one of the islands in the middle of the lake. Mr Lukasz said he even saw it dive underwater on its way.
After a week of trying and failing to get the cow back, Mr Lukasz gave up and began making sure it was fed enough food to stay alive instead.
When firefighters used a boat to get to the island, the cow swam about 50 metres to a neighbouring peninsula. Pawel Gotowski, deputy commander of the fire brigade in Nysa, said the animal was frightened but healthy.
A vet called in to tranquillise the animal told Mr Lukasz he had run out of gas cartridges, and that it would take several days to get new ones.
Despite the farmer considering having it shot dead, a political leader in the town of Nysa, Czeslaw Bilobran, has reportedly said the cow will live out its life in peace.
Politician and former singer, Pawel Kukiz, raised the animal's plight on Wednesday in a Facebook post in which he offered to pay for the “hero cow” to be saved from death.

The truth here is that not only are all animals sentient, but in fact we are one with them. There is only one being in all existence and it has many bodies/forms. This literally means that all animals ARE YOU (And me/us) - but in a different body. We would do well now to learn this and stop destroying parts of us we unconsciously claim to be unimportant.
Maybe the answer to resolve the torment of so many animals lies not in awakening the sleepy humans who refuse to expand their thinking about nutrition, health and ethics - but instead in empowering cows to fight back!

I agree with you - animals have the same feelings as a person. They are living creatures! Society Steemit, I think, will support you. But how to convince the rest of the people that the animals are suffering? The world is cruel. For example, in the province of southern Italy, a ritual - to sacrifice a goat - has been left from times past. She is thrown from a high cliff and the whole province is going to see this terrible sight. And what about the Spanish bullfight? In Madrid, the bullfight has already been banned, but in Barcelona this terrible brutality over the bulls has remained. Because many tourists come and Barcelona collects big money when tourists visit the bullfight. There are many other cases of animal cruelty. How to change the consciousness of these people?
The logic of the situation is provably in favor of protecting the animals and not harming them. This therefore means that honest discussion and enquiry will result in the realisations needed - the problem is denial and the fact that many people are so caught up with their own denials that they do not know what is real and have no intention of finding out. Democratic process could be one way to change the situation, but clearly there are no real democracies anyway, they are all just bluff, posturing and denial - much like the bull fights.
We are observing at least two totally contradictory ways of being - one which respects life and is powered through love and another which is against life and which is moving those involved towards their own death, while causing death and destruction along the way. Everything that can be done, must be done - which includes forms of educational activism, scientific publication, living by example in intentional communities and so on. By living from the heart eventually the Earth's own healing process and increased vibrational power will prevent the heartless beings from incarnating here any more - the timescale for that process depends on free will.
Agree with you. Fortunately, there are many kind and caring people in the world. There are many people who devote their lives to fighting cruelty. They are trying to convey their ideas of humanism to the society, including in the case of animals. Unfortunately, many people do not understand that their brutal attitude to animals breeds a reciprocal cruelty, because everything in the world is interconnected - man - nature - animals.
I think if a large number of people will constantly raise this issue and discuss it, then gradually, the percentage of cruelty will be reduced. There is one good expression - the water is sharpening the stone: if you constantly talk about something, the situation will begin to change for the better.
The cow showed an indepth desire to remain alive. This is so touching. This further burtresses the point I always try making that these animals have feelings. If not for any other thing, they feel pain. Humans who criticize vets are just a heartless group of people. Would you enjoy if someone killed you for food? Then why kill these innocent animals? Absolutely, animals are really just other versions of us with different shaped bodies!
The world would become a better place and more love would be spread around if we could all realize this. We should all ask ourselves this simple question - What if the universe is structured in such a way that when we die in this generation, we come back in the next generation as an animal, in a third generation as a human again and so on.?

We do, but the problem is that it's few of us that take time to ponder on these deep things. Majority of the world will not hesitate to call you names and regard you as 'weird' because you have refused to see indiscriminate killing animals as a normal way of life. It hurts to my marrow. Every damn time.
That is part of why I don't really talk with many at present. Earth is healing though and things will be very different in the not so distant future.
We will continue to wait till then. The earth is sick and beeds serious therapy
