Veganism is not a diet!

-It includes one, a plant based one to be precise, but veganism is far more than this one solitary factor alone.
Veganism is actually a philosophical doctrine with set moral guidelines. While the lines are blurred in popular culture, which is actually causing long term damage to the movement; people who went plant based for the animals, like myself, and thus follow vegan philosophy will give you pushback if you define it as such as this philosophy is very much important to us.

It is so frustrating to see the Omchackra Hipsters usurp the label totally stripping it from it's deep rooted philosophy. In the end it is once again the animals that get the short end of the stick . Why? some of the people here will ask. Because it now opens the door to still legitimise animal exploitation, if not for food, for research, cosmetics , clothing , entertainment. This is not an exaggeration either we have seen formally vegan companies like Hampton Creek test on animals now to appease the callous masses. Or the abhorrent experimentation for the impossible burger. Mainstream consumers might go plant based for their health or for the planet, and while this does benefit the planet, their health and farm animals, it no longer combats one of the most detrimental flaws in humans society and mindset - that we as dominant species have the right to exploit , torture and murder anything outside of our race . This mindset needs to be rectified or we will never evolve from being the blithe of this earth. So while we do need to keep a certain amount of decorum to keep communication channels open coddling the uncaring masses is the wrong approach.
