Manuel Antonio National Park

Manuel Antonio National Park is ranked as having some of the best beaches in all of Costa Rica. Located on the pacific side of Costa Rica in the province of Puntarenas, Cantón de Aguirre, Costa Rica. A short 25 min flight to Quepos La Managua Airport from San José Province, Costa Rica or you can take a 2.5 to 3.5 hour car or bus ride.

My mother and I only had the 4 days. The first night our plan was delayed coming in to San José due to the eruption of the Turrialba. Located 30 miles east of the of San José. So our first night stay in San José was cancelled and we were able to get our money back. However, the flight got in 2 hours later then our original non-refundable flight to Quepos. So we had to buy another ticket on the next flight out with Sansa. Sansa flights in general run a couple of bucks less than Nature Air. Relaxing in the warm water was amazing.

There are four typical species of monkeys in Costa Rica. I saw the White-faced monkey being a bad monkey!!

The black iguana, green iguana, and several other species are common throughout the Costa Rica. Manuel Antonio National Park you can see them all!

The looting Raccoons (Mapache) in Costa Rica belong to the same species as those in Maryland. The devils thieves are found near beaches looting tourist food and belongings.

Let's talk about Sloths! Manuel Antonio National Park is a great destination to find sleepy sloths.
I got one picture but it was not very good. :(

I would like to visit Costa Rica again and visit a different region. From this trip I was inspired for a recipe contest. The green mango is an excellent fruit. Stay tuned for the next blog.
