Thanks for sharing. I appreciate any attention given to this terrible and wasteful practice. One of my favorite shows "Grace and Frankie" touched on it in season 2 but then kinda justified it saying it was better than women using parabens in self-lubricant. What's really amazing is that people STILL don't know about palm oil and it's devastating impact. And sadly other countries use it as a staple, an international crackdown or law is in order.
Thank you! Exactly. People have no idea about the devastation it causes. If I had the funding I would do a research study on the orang-utan orphans and their emotional and psychological states. My phd is a focus on trauma - in animals- this is woefully neglected.
It is very sad that program back peddled because the argument is flawed. People believe that going vegan is the solution what they fail to recognize is that what they are eating is just as devastating to the planet (soy and palm oil and all biofuels). I am not saying do not become vegan but do your due diligence. The paradigm is to shift towards cohabitation, community and sustainability away from for profit, captalism and personal gain.
