International Cat Day / The most famous cat in the world / ( Re-Post)

in #animals6 years ago

Today is the international cat day. As a cat owner, today I would like re-post one of my writings that I shared here a long time ago. Don't forget to take care of our lovely friends who can't talk even though they have got many things to say!

Tombik

You may ask what I am talking about when you see the title. Yes , I am talking about the world's most famous cat, Tombili which means chubby in turkish language. Turkey is home to many stray dogs and cats. If you have been to Turkey, you have probably seen that all streets are full of homeless cats and dogs. They are homeless but turkish people love them so much. Even, one of them has a statue in Kadıköy, İstanbul. Tombili was a cat in the district of Kadıköy in İstanbul. I am sad to say that he was a cat because he died on the 1st of August, 2016.

Kedi!

Residents of the street where he used to live were always feeding and taking care of him. But this is life, we never know when we will die. As he was loved so much by people, people started petition after his death. Municipality of Kadıköy decided to put a sculpture on the pavement where he used to sit and chill all day. Now, ıf you ever visit İstanbul, you can pay a visit to Kadıköy to see his statue. One final note, take care of all pets, they are our best friends.

About 37% of American homes today have at least 1 cat.

That is impressive, cats are loved a lot in my country. I have got a black boy :)

Heat occurs several times a year and can last anywhere from 3 to 15 days.

A cat's normal pulse is 140-240 beats per minute, with an average of 195.
