Shot Animal Killed Hunter 23/5/2017
Hello Steemian so Mr Botha's company called Theunis Botha Big Game Safaris and Hounds, and hounds because the guy was known to hunt using dogs.
Its also apparently a family run business with his wife Carike.

In 1878 his ancestors moved into the wild regions of South Africa and become cattle ranchers and unfortunately hunters.
Back in the year of 1966 Botha became the latest addition to the family and to be raised in the ways of the bush and its people.
He served in the South African infantry during the Angolan War and left the Army at the rank of sergeant.
Founding his own company in the 1980s Theunis Botha became the South African specialist in big game safaris and often took wealthy foreigners on hunts for lions, leopards and other animals.
Before we talk about Botha hes friend Scott van Zyl, 44 was also killed just last month this time by crocodiles during a hunt in Zimbabwe.
I think the point is this is a dangerous so called.. game.
As for Botha he was leading a hunt in Gwai, Zimbabwe him and the rest of the group were out for just a walk and it was around the afternoon when they came across a breeding herd of elephants.

What do these smart humans start doing? Yeah shooting, Botha shot at three elephants.
The poor creatures after being shot tried storming the hunters but died in the act.
A fourth elephant stormed from the side and lifted Botha with her trunk and was fatally shot by another hunter.
The poor elephant then collapsed and died but also took Botha with her by crushing him to death.
Thats right the professional big games hunter is now dead after he was crushed by an elephant that was mortally wounded by a gunshot, the elephant was shot by a member of the hunting group as it stormed them and then fell on top of Botha killing him at age 51.
Heartbroken friends described the married father of five as a "legend"
While critics of big game hunting responded with little sympathy.

If this is the guy who shot the Lion under a bush I have no sympathy. I posted similar a while ago. To me this is not sport but idiotic killing of beautiful wild animals which should be banned
Hey @ianstrat it could well be the same guy as this is not the first time he as been highlighted for the wrong reasons, its not a sport at all its mindless killing using unfair advanced weapons, it should be completely illegal.

I know right @sulev they are just minding their own business when these fools start taking shots at them for no reason, sick.
elephants are amazing creatures. Love watching those youtube videos of rescued elephants and also farm animals.

yep agree with everything you say.........the hunters become the hunted.....and its called karma.......if you have to kill for survival thats very different to killing to feed that overinflated ego...
