The big cats family comprises of Lions, Tigers, Jaguars, Leopards, Snow Leopards, Cheetahs, Ligers, Pumas / Cougars / Panthers / Mountain Lions etc.

(( In 2005, an Ethiopian girl was kidnapped and beaten by 7 men until a pride of lions chased her attackers off. The lions then stayed and defended her until help arrived ))

((Not every big cat roars. Just four do - Lions, Tigers, Leopard and Jaguars. All others simply purr and make hissing/snarling sounds. Snow leopards can't do any though ))

((A liger is a crossbreed between a male lion and a female tiger while Tigons are a crossbreed between female lions and male tigers ))

((There are more captive tigers in the USA alone than there are wild tigers in the entire world. That is just sad ))
