Perfect Horse Floating: The first time on the road!
According to Roman religion, Fortūna was the goddess of fortune. She smiled on us today. Perhaps it’s fair to say however that we helped her along by setting ourselves up for success. You see, today we took our young grey mare Nayyerah for her first float ride on the road; something terrifying and actively avoided by many horses.
The fact that Nayyerah was calm, engaged and participated happily in everything we asked of her was in no small way due to the ground work we’ve invested into preparing her for this experience. We’ve employed a combination of approaches to compassionately work with our horses, something we’ve coined existential horsemanship. This video taken earlier today shows us unloading our older boy Scarab and Nayyerah after returning from the trip.
Join us experiencing the happy unloading of our two Egyptian Arabians from the trailer after Nayyerah's very first float experience on the road. After careful prior preparation and training, the event was happy and safe.
Note that I refer to Nayyerah as "white" in the video. This was for immediate recognition, her colour is actually referred to as grey due to the effect of the skin colour. This is most noticeable when the body is wet. Readers may be interested in one of our previous videos of Nayyerah’s preparation. Share in our accomplishment and enjoy, comment, up-vote, follow & resteem.
