Cat breeds: Foreign White

Foreign White is a breed that, according to some reports, became a background for a genetic constructor called "Siamese cat".

And the history of the long forgotten breed is this: one day, a certain breeder (Turner) wanted to surprise the world with a breed that was not yet known. The highlight was a white color. That's right, Britain in 1964 received a new blond-haired breed of cats. And at that time only Angora and their relatives Persian cats were white in color. However, there was one family feature for all these cats - they had hearing impairment. And they were either completely deaf or partially. This became their genetic feature. Such features are now defined as genetic diseases. Therefore, in some countries, the breeding of these animals is clearly spelled out in the legislation as a crime, for example in Germany.

So - Turner used as the basis of an ordinary Siamese cat and as a result of numerous crossings, (also inbreeding), she received white-haired cats. They had blue eyes, and, most importantly, they all had one excellent hearing. This was due to the fact that they had no angorok genes, because the Siamese cats were, for a long time, isolated from others, and they did not get those genes that gave them deafness. First Patricia Turner and her partner Sterlin-Webb gave the name to a new breed of Chinese White, however, later, they decided to give another name - forin white - a foreigner. The peak of its popularity this breed reached in 1966, when it received high marks at many exhibitions in the UK.

Just this new breed of cats Foreign White and became the foundation of the exteriors of artificially bred cats, with a characteristic blond-haired color. Cat Charlie von Münlau and became the beginning of "purebred Siamese cats." They were called "real Siamese cats". Everyone realized that any manipulation aimed at consolidating one trait as a result of inheritance negatively affects the overall health of the offspring. And Foreign White was already a product of genetic selection. But all this did not stop their breeding. And, as a result, there was a breed that did not have good health, but it had excellent price points.
