A fight to save nature

in #animals7 years ago (edited)

Hello fellow stemians! i have been away for a while fighting my own Battle in life, But i am back now.

As i told you before in my first post i have a passion for animals and i work with animals organizations to try to save as many animals as i can.

This time i am going to tell you a story about An amazing effort done by unexpected people to save the Egyptian Tortoise.

Egyptian Tortoises also known as Kleinmann's tortoise,is a critically endangered species of neck-hiding tortoise. Once more widespread, its numbers are now dwindling.

The species is nearly extinct in Egypt, and complete extinction in the wild is a looming threat unless more actions are taken to protect this species.

As you can see in The pictures Above it's one of smallest types of turtles all around the world.

A group of young kids and their parents managed to gather hundreds of egyptian tortoises, from pet shops and other facilities and made a specific plan to set them free in their natural habitat in egypt, so that once more Egypt would have it's population of wild egyptian tortoise roaming free in the wild.

By The Way this group of children and their parents are all Egyptian.

so What do you all think about that!

Hope i can get your feedbacks!

Catch you soon.

😍 How small they are!

This is the second smallest species of tortoise (the smallest is the speckled padloper of South Africa). The average total carapace (top shell) length is 5.67 inches (14.4 cm). Females are generally a bit larger and weigh 10.6–12.4 ounces (300–350g), with males about 4 inches (10.2g) and 5.6–8.8 ounces (160–250g).
They are amazingly small!!!

Impressive! Never seen these before. I will follow you =)

glad you like it :D

This is a great idea. They look amazing and are so small! I hope they manage to get somewhere nice and don't end up being captured again.

They ended up in their natural habitat, and they are being reviewed frequently so that nothing bad would happen to them :), i'll keep you updated once i know anything more about them

Ah, that's great, i'm glad to hear this. Thank's a lot, I am very interested in this and really respect what has been done for them. This is the kind of thing that keeps your faith for humanity!

Welcome back buddy :D

Thanks dude! cool GIF lol :D
