RE: Dear Tazewell County Attorney's Office

in #animals6 years ago

This is an EPIC letter. EPIC. They can get a free copy of the "Humanure Handbook" per the author of the book if they don't already have one. I know my friend has property out in the yonder and county regs walk a very a grey line between compositing at home and what goes into the compost. Manure is fine being composted as it's not specifically being buried nor dumped. County regs are silent on the issue outside of this. State law also exempts household composting, backyard composting and such as exempt since they are not commercial facilities.

You can't tell me they are upset about you burning dog poo, when a coyote or a wolf or two might openly defecate somewhere on your beautiful seven acres. They might as well cite and prosecute the animal!

I dare them too.

Again, your letter is wonderfully written. Keep us posted.

Sure will keep you posted. :-) They probably received the hard copy via certified mail today. I'm very curious to see what kind of response they'll make.
