MY NEW WINGED FRIENDS

Dear Steemians. Happy New Year!!!!
I would like to present you two new friends of family and I, which visit our veranda in daily basis. It is a cute pair of Collared doves.Our acquaintance is dated since 2014, when they first flew in our residence to seek food. Their size is slightly smaller than the urban doves, their body is grey and their eyes are not black, but dark-red, round and with bright look.
Every morning when my mother comes outto the veranda to water the plants or to have her coffee the collar doves approach her immediately and enthusiastic, asking her some food with a somehow penetrating voice like "crrr crrr, crrr ", repeatedly. Our mother usually gives them wheat, bread, rusk or rice soaked in fresh water.

Various times a day, when my brother ,my sister and I come out to the veranda to daydream, have coffee, or use our laptops, our “winged buddies” fly towards us at once, so that they can be near us.
Although birds can't do the cute things that cats and dogs do to show us their love and affection, they have their own sweet code of communication with the person, therefore the contact and experience we share with them is fascinating.
This reciprocal relationship between human beings is quite possitive. The observation of birds in the balkony and especially in the garden or a courtyard is an interesting and constructive way for our children to learn how to respect the value of nature, by watching in detail the stages of the circle of life of birds, their immigration, the moulting period, the creation of nests, the incubation of nestlings, etc.
The conservation of the birds and the hearing of the chirps among them, as well as the interactive relationtogether which helps us come closer to nature and, at the same time, it contributes to our better management of stress that we feel in our everyday routine.

Besides bird watching is not unusual. Do not forget that today is a popular form of alternative tourism in Greece and other countries, not only for scientific research but also for hobbies, while many are the lovers of nature and enjoyment this interesting activity can offer. Even watching a sparrow is something attractive: from the variety of colors in the body and the tail and the shades they make according to the light of day, to the various reactions of their birds to various external stimuli, all this is just magic!
Therefore, for one reason or another, next time a bird appears suddenly in your balcony don't lose this opportunity. It's worthy!!!
