LITTLE-PEPPERS FIELD GUIDE TO WISCONSIN REPTILES & AMPHIBIANS - Introduction

in #animals7 years ago

When the @papa-pepper family used to live in Wisconsin, they were always outdoors in the woods and swamps catching and observing all sorts of the wonderful creatures that live on the earth. Time and time again @papa-pepper was able to education his @little-peppers with some excellent hands-on lessons about the amazing creatures that can be found all around us, if we will just take the time to look.

Mostly for fun, we created a printable Field Guide to Wisconsin Reptiles and Amphibians, and we would give it away to people. When we would go to beaches, for example, @papa-pepper would frequently catch all sorts of reptiles and amphibians, and often many children and adults would surround us with a lot of questions.

Having this Field Guide to hand out was a great way to share some information with them!

We figured it would nice to share the pages of this Field Guide with all of you here on steemit, and see what you think of it. The photos are all original, and we will post it one page, or animal, at a time. If you enjoy what we did in Wisconsin, perhaps we will have to make an Arkansas version in the spring to share as well.

Each of the amazing creatures that roam around on this planet were created in incredible and amazing ways to be full of awesome abilities. Being up and close and personal with them is a great option when you have the opportunity.

Also, some of these animals can be quite dangerous. @papa-pepper has been handling them for decades and cares enough for his @little-peppers not to put them in the way of any serious harm. When we are able to, we will also try to include some short videos of some of these creatures so you can see a little more of them.

Our first creature will be the Common Snapping Turtle, and we will post about it tomorrow!

Yes, @papa-pepper had different hair back then.

Cool, I like turtles. Don't let em snap on ya though, it takes a clap of thunder to make em let go. Or...

Anyway, I really like the graphics in this post :)

Have fun guys and stay warm.

I had fun making that silouette of my family in MS Paint a few years ago... I think I did a great job too!

Yes you did really well. Now that we know your family the graphics do fit well in deed..

Blessings guys :)

Thanks Brother!

Right, those turtles are "LOOK, BUT DO NOT TOUCH" for the @little-peppers!

I spend a wonderful summer working as a lifeguard at Camp Lucerne Neshkoro WI 1993. I remember the turtles in the lake.

Very cool, we've never heard of that particular place, but turtles are Papa's favorite!

We must have driven past that area a lot of times then!

Thanks for sharing!

Welcome to the pepper family (first time I noticed the little one account)! I am looking forward to read the guide (and share it with my little ones ^^ )!

PS: the little-mouths are however too young to be on board...

Please enjoy following our adventures and sharing them with the little-mouths.

Thanks! _ Thought I did a great job with it!
