The stiff, slightly curving tail of the Airedale terrier is sometimes docked and tends to most typically be black in color. the bulk of this breed's thickset body is tan in color (including its ears), with black and generally carmine colored markings. Their double coat of fur is waterproof with a rough and stringy layer, that's lined by softer hotter fur (a characteristic of the Otter Hound).
