You're giraffing me crazy!
In the summer of 2016, I stopped by my best friend's place of work in Valdosta, Georgia. The zoo is called Wild Adventures Theme Park. From capybaras to tigers, they have it all!
My first stop on the trip was to visit the giraffes. You don't realize how big these creatures are until you see them firsthand. I was even able to feed one!
My next stop took me to meet up with Sara from Land before Time's cousin, Mr. Rhinoceros! Rhinos love to eat lettuce, assorted vegetables...hell, pretty much everything. And their mouths are ginormous.
We then walked to the other side of the park to meet the tigers, aka le Tigre! They could only be seen behind cages, because, well...they'll eat your face off.
The final stop and probably highlight of the entire time at the park was getting the chance to go behind the scenes and hang out with Shirley the elephant. She is a 71 year old Asian Elephant. I was able to feed her with my hand and she even sucked the crumbs right off of my shirt.
What a beautiful place and a wonderful time. If you find yourself in Valdosta, Georgia, make sure you stop by the park.
