Sea turtles

I am presenting two photographs of green sea turtles. I took these photographs as part of a campaign to stock photos for my image bank in Mayotte. This interface is known as the Mayotte Image Bank. These green turtles are very emblematic of the Mayotte lagoon. They are protected, counted, banded, followed by associations, and photographed like me today!! But despite all this, poaching continues. Every night turtles are captured by poachers. They pull them to the top of the beach, turn them over, and stab them alive to cut their meat. Only a bloodied shell with stillborn eggs still attached to the bottom will remain on the beach. The poached turtles are only females, as only females go up to beaches to lay eggs. Poaching therefore creates an additional problem with an imbalance between males and females
