LESSON FROM THE GIRAFFE
I read this piece somewhere and it really inspired me, so I thought to share it with you guys.
The birth of a giraffe is an extremely remarkable event. To be born, a giraffe has to fall from its mother's womb which is over 7 feet above the ground (definitely higher than you are). As expected, a fall like this makes the baby giraffe quite weak. The adult female giraffe smooches her baby and then does something brutal enough to cause a human mother who does the same to her newborn to be sent to jail. She kicks her own newborn, sending it flying into the air and tumbling on the ground. The baby lies still as expected, however, the adult giraffe continues kicking the newborn until with trembling legs, the newborn pushes its limbs and stands on its feet for the first time.
The adult giraffe is delighted at this, however, she gives the newborn another kick.It falls but quickly recovers and stands again.
The reason for this seemingly brutal act is to enable the newborn to learn how to stand and run along with the other giraffes, so as to be able to escape the lions and leopards which attack the giraffes.
Unlike the newborn giraffe, most of us have no one to teach us to stand when we fall. When we fall, we just stay down. No one kicks us out of our comfort zone to remind us that in order to succeed and survive,we need to get back on our feet.
This is to everyone who has fallen, being discouraged or have even given up. The world needs your genius, stand on your feet and be the success you were born to be.
