Actually, this species may be associated with Probainognathus jenseni, a species found in the first period of the Mesozoic Era rocks in western Argentina.The other one specie cynodont, as well discovered in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, had been recognized through less remains - merely a jaw with teeth.The two cynodonts existed millions of years before the appearance of the 1st identified mammal: a shrew-like animal which existed around 160.000.000 years back in what is currently China.
